Gordon Brown becomes our latest Priminister on Wednesday. Already the optimism and the joy of leaving the Tony Blair years behind is palpable but is it justified?
What record do we have of Brown being trustworthy? According to the Panorama programme that was shown we have no idea of how devious and untrustworthy he is.
The recent budget tax cut on the headline rate of income tax whilst removing the 10% band was actually an increase.
Proof if it were needed that Brown is a devious son of a preacherman.
Out of the frying pan into the fire is one term that I will say is relevant here. We could all tell when Tony was lying but will we be able to tell when Brown is?
The next few months are going to be interesting.
