Database State Britain unwrapped by Rowntree

From the Register again

Ministers spending billions on unlawful databases

The Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust

A report on the Database State PDF here claims that 40 out of 46 key government databases are not fit for purpose, and 11 of those are "almost certainly illegal under human rights or data protection law and should be scrapped or substantially redesigned".

The report comes as the government prepares to sneak legislation on data-sharing back into parliament despite an apparent U-turn on the idea earlier this month.

Sneaky government trying to bring back clause 152 by the back door. Jack Straw is a shyster and this shows his absolute determination to bring it back in.

Amongst the report’s key findings are:

* A quarter of the public-sector databases reviewed are almost certainly illegal under human rights or data protection law
* Fewer than 15 per cent of the public databases assessed in this report are effective, proportionate or necessary, and again, most lack a proper legal basis for any privacy intrusions
* Britain is out of line with other developed countries, where records on sensitive matters like healthcare and social services are held locally not centralised as in Britain
* Many of the benefits claimed for data sharing are illusory, whilst little account is taken of the serious harm that this approach can inflict on vulnerable individuals
* The current spend on IT within the UK public sector is over £16bn a year on IT, with (approximately) £100bn planned for the next five years: yet only about 30 per cent of government IT projects succeed.

Full Article in the Register here

Many of the problems with lawfulness stem from the fact that data-sharing – or processing - of some form appears to be going on despite existing Data Protection strictures against it.

It is for this reason that the government introduced the now infamous clause 152 into the Coroners and Justice Bill, currently before Parliament. Although that clause has been temporarily withdrawn, this report highlights several dozen reasons why it is inevitable that it will be back.

Because of a strict interpretation of the law, government Ministers are presently deploying billions of pounds of taxpayer dosh – and are quite possibly doing so illegally.

The trouble is that those who should be taking action are now increasingly looking the other way. The report says: "There is a sense in the senior civil service and among politicians that the personal data issue is now career-threatening and toxic.

Sounds about right for our darling politicians, Honestly we voted for these idiots?

Who let them loose You the electorate did Any regrets?

More Tasers for Police Forces in England and Wales

"He fell down the stairs, guv. Into some power cables"

From the Register this morning:

The Home Office yesterday announced funding for a further 6,000 Taser electroshock stunguns to be used by police forces across England and Wales. Nonetheless it appears that in London the weapons will not be given out willy-nilly widely issued, a situation condemned by rank-and-file officers' spokesmen.Just why are the rank and file so worried about not carrying weapons of death?

The funding for 6,000 additional Tasers is on top of an initial budget for 10,000 made available last year. All of the new flying-cattleprod guns are intended for issue to absolute amateur trigger happy plods specially-qualified police not serving in firearms units.

Link to story above in italics.

"It is extremely fucking annoying disappointing that the Metropolitan Police Authority has not taken advantage of this funding," said Paul McKeever of the Police Federation, representing the arse end and stupid bottom four ranks of plods. "Not only does Taser provide a more less lethal alternative to firearms but it provides confidence and reassurance so we can just taser and be done with it to officers when confronted with volatile situations."

Interest Rate cut to 1.5% Lowest ever since 1694

She looks really happy doesnt she...... Not

The Bank of England in its own admission has lowered interest rates to 1.5 % the lowest since the Bank was formed by wealthy landowners back in 1694.

The Bank of England was once a private institution ( probably still is; Who actually knows who owns this bank?) unless it also was nationalised in 1947 along with all the other companies in that year.

How they think lower interest rates will boost the economy in the face of all that is going on and billionaires killing themselves, in Germany, ( just an aside) is beyond me

Plus the fact that Brown wants to print more money as I posted yesterday. We are going to be in a situation where we are going to be in a Zimbabwe, or a Germany between the wars very soon

What does the Bank think its doing? Or is this a government sponsored effort to importune all our money and kill off sterling and make way for paperless currency so that we can all be chipped and IDed and made in to serfs for the state and that we proletarians will become indentured servants to the Patrician people who have power at their disposal?

I read about this on conspiracy websites, almost 6 years ago and thought oh dear will it come to pass

Unfortunately they were telling the truth, or a verisimilitude of it

The fuckwits that run this country supposedly Brown and the Labour party are puppets of the bankers . Wankers all of them, Cunts !

Gordon Brown and the Incompetents

That Man has given away 6.4billion pounds to the banks and they are redistributing it as bonuses

Link here

A vast collection of swearwords comes to mind

Well Gordon if the common man on the street knew what you were upto rather than being sweetly led astray by the VAT reduction and the wonderful 70% off sales in Debenhams then we might have the chance of riots on the street and thats putting it mildly

Police Screen out Offences to massage statistics

I mistakenly read the Telegraph this morning and looked at Politics

Four in every ten crimes go uninvestigated

It has confirmed what I often thought, that the police couldn't give a flying fuck about you, unless its an easy recordable crime such as a speeding offence.

Fuckwits and Bastards thats all I can say Im in a terrible mood just before Christmas and this is not even the icing on the cake

Jacqui Smith's head should roll and Im going to nick a picture and put it up here too, because thats how pissed off I am.

I dont usually swearblog but this is reason for an big exception.

Call a General election Now

Heads should be rolling for this

I forgot a swearword

CUNT =Jacqui Smith

It was found that across the country, of the 16 forces who replied to a Freedom of Information request, 39 per cent of crimes were screened out - an equivalent of 1.9 million out of the five million crimes reported.

Edit |Update

Easter Snow

Its snowing again, last time was in 1998 for the Good Friday Agreement, one does wonder if this is in response to the Lisbon Treaty, that treasonous poisonous little deal that Gordon Brown did recently.

No wonder they want to update the treason laws.

Upto five cm of snow in places...

Seriously though is it just me or is this sceptred isle becoming a little bit like a prison?

You cant do this you cant do that Just what exactly can you do I suppose if youre an MP you can get away with lots of things because you have money, even riding the wrong way down a one way street and riding through a red light....

Beeching rail cut reversed 46 years later

The train to Ebbw vale left from Cardiff this morning for the first time in 46 years

So that means the last one was in 1962

Beeching was an MP much like today's MPs with his snout in a trough, he was associated with the road building industry who were desperate to build roads for the government to get the juicy contracts.

The public transport system that Beeching destroyed has led to a wholly crap dependence on the car but of course they didnt bother about global warming back then.

USA says it has the right to kidnap UK Citizens

That's right, you read it correctly. The link to the Times aricle is the headline of this piece.

Who the hell do they think they are? Have we lost our sovereignty because of Bush's so called war on terror?

In anycase its a bad day for us. The prospect of emigrating to another part of the EU is getting stronger by the day.

And yet more Doctor Bashing

Heard on the news today. Consultants get more money but do less work. What tosh , what fucking rubbish. More government crap and where the hell did they get that average £110000 salary. Most consultants don't get that they get £78000 after working their arse off for 7-10 years.

Heathrow Airport

A proposed sixth terminal is touted for Heathrow. Link here

They are planning to destroy the village of Sipson.

Hypocrites! They bang on about carbon emissions and global warming yet because its good for business they have to enlarge Heathrow Airport.

Gordon Brown and the Incompetents

Sounds like a pop group, or a band of musicians who can't play very well.

In fact its our government, and the standard of people they employ and the uselessness of our education system.

Two computer discs were posted in the regular mail with no record of posting, no nothing and they went missing. Thing is they contained highly confidential details of all the bank accounts of those who receive child benefit. Now who is to blame?

The person who posted it who has probably done it in a rush. No aforethought of how sensitive the material and not intelligent or educated enough to think , "oh this stuff is important it shouldn't get lost", and without the presence of mind to think I better send this a better way such as recorded delivery or some other such stuff.

Of course someone has got them and thinks they are shiny or worth something or they've been put somewhere and been stolen or taken to be hacked into.

Its not confined to this area of government either and that is what is so wrong with our society and our education.
Link here
The DWP regularly sends back the originals of household bills and driving licences and passports, the statements of your ISAs and your premium bonds, need I go on?, in the second class post after you apply for benefits or anything else a
They don't give a monkeys after they've seen it and sorted your benefit.

No covering letter, no nothing, and it is a miracle that your identity and your stuff doesn't get pilfered by someone.

I've had it happen to me and I was upset and my father pointed out to me that he was upset about how they had sent my stuff back.

Why is the question we should be asking? Why when the government is so fucking concerned about terrorism is it so lax in protecting its own citizens?

I wouldn't trust the government to organise a vertical urination in a brewery ( that's a piss up to you and I).

They have dumbed down the education system through successive governments and created an underclass who can't think through things properly and who are terrible at managing things and then they put up posters for the likes of you and I who are educated and say no abuse or we'll prosecute you.

Well I say you bastards, you fucking bastards why the fuck can't you deal with us properly and why the fuck aren't the standards higher, then you wouldn't even risk the possibility of abuse you ignorant bastards.

Our education system is in meltdown and our infrastructure rapidly crumbling and our governmental offices filled with the lowest ignorant people because they wouldn't get a job anywhere else.

I remember vividly asking my dyslexic rather slow witted and ignorant relative where he worked and he told me that he was working in Lambeth for the civil service, and I thought.. uh oh this isn't right what the fuck is he doing there. Would I trust him to take care of my pension? The answer is no.

The government wants slaves and people who take orders but what it fails to realise is that in order for that system to work you have to have constant supervision by someone who knows what needs to be done and how it should be done, you don't leave them to make their own decisions or there will be chaos.

The government have hidden this from us for 18 months.. they say they were posted 18 months ago.

If it were not so outrageous it would be cause for a general election. How dare they play with us and half the population is affected, and will be affected for years

I'm surprised there aren't demonstrations going on but of course these days you just can't go out and demonstrate you have to tell the police in advance which makes it impossible to just protest when you feel like it and this in what we call a free western democracy.

India has a better democracy because at least there any kind of protest is valid and no one dare break it up for the fear of rioting.

Of course this is just another feature of a dumbed down populace, the inability to even go out there and protest for our rights. Apathy rules ok and the sheeple just baa and get on with eating.
It makes me sick and it is a terrible day.

Over the channel the French strike and protest because their education is better than ours, and this is shown by how many expatriates from Britain live there and get their children into those schools.

It is a sad day because we have been cheated and lied to for years and given bad service and what do we do when we vote? we don't even fucking bother to change the sodding people who cheat us.

Thats my motto for today

Never give up, Always believe in yourself and don't let the bastards grind you down.
