Thank you for donating

I'd like to say a big big thank you for the first person who has donated to my campaign expenses.  Thank you ever so much.

I will be writing to each and every one of you after the election to thank you for your support but this first donation means a heck of a lot.

Thanks once again.

Remember  even 10 pence is worthwhile and you will get a letter /email back to thank you. Can't promise on how long it take me to reply to all of you but I will reply.

Terror detention announcement expected

Jacqui Smith our new Home secretary is about to announce that the terror detention laws are about to be renewed and that the period of detention without trial is going to be 42 days. That's six weeks to you and me.

Personally and politically I find this to be abhorrent and unnecessary.

You don't need six weeks unless you are an incompetent bureacracy laden, lawbreaking Government who cant even register proper donations to your own political party properly.

This is playing on what fear? For Christ's bloody sake even the IRA and internment didn't work in Northern Ireland. Has everyone forgotten so quickly. History will say that you have repeated the same mistakes and caused untold damage to intercultural relations. This is a massive blow for civil liberties.

PS I know I wasn't going to post but this little snippet of fuckwittery by the government came out at 2am this morning.

The Three Wise Monkeys

Gordon Brown, Harriet Harman, Jack Dromey (her husband)
Priminister, Leader of the House and the party treasurer.
Police are to launch an enquiry into the donations scandal. Link here

Honestly speaking you would have thought that with all the fuss about donations and the laws that Tony himself put through government to make sure that donations to political parties were not secretive that someone would have taken note of it especially the party that brought the laws in, in the first place.

Instead they seem to be attracting attention to themselves. It seems the labour spin machine has now become a fan and the brown stuff has hit the fan.

Tony must be laughing his socks off at the ineptitude of his successor.
